Help choose a Shiraz wine blend

Hi,

New to this forum, female from Montreal Canada.

A friend of mine, whose been making wine at home for the past 20 yrs, has asked me if I'm interested in making a batch of my own, about 6 cases. I do like a dark grape like the shiraz but would like to blend it with something. He makes a Cab/Shiraz blend so I'd like to do something else. I've been reading up on different blends and have read that Shiraz could also be blended with sangiovese and merlot, or Shiraz/Cab/Merlot or even just merlot itself.

Kinda nervous of making something and then it not tasting good in the end so I was wondering if you guys could offer some advise on a Shiraz blend. Really would appreciate it since his wine is really good (many have said so) and I'd like to up him one lol.

Zin/Shiraz is a favorite of mine

I have done the WE World Vineyard kit, It's pretty nice.

Never made any wine from juice (YET)

Definately agree with Kevin. The Shiraz/Zin WE kit is great. I've had offers to buy bottles of that.
