The LHBS has a paper posted on their board from someone selling fresh grapes locally which should be ready around July 4. It says 90lbs should make 5 gallons and the price is $0.60/lb for the grapes. Is that a good price? Is 90lbs sufficient? I didn't notice the variety, but it was on there.

I have bought grapes around here in the past, I get 100# to make 5 to 6 gallons, depends on the grape. Norton is mostly seeds and skin so you need more to get enough juice. Price goes anywhere from .50c to $1 a pound. less if you pick, more if they pick.

That price is about right but varietal is important. Is that local fresh grapes or imported grapes being sold locally?

I"m in houston. I'd love some fresh, good grapes. Tempted to drive out there to pick some up????
