Good Malolactic Culture?

Im getting ready to put my Chilean pails thru MLF soon. I ordered a couple vials from WhiteLabs but they did not come in on this weeks order. I was offered 4 vials of culture from the guys down at South Hills Brewing for free. They date on the vial is 4-6-13 which makes this 1 month past the use by date. I was wondering if anyone had an opinion on whether or not this will work. Should I be trying to order more ASAP? Also, I'd imagine if the culture is too old it wont ruin my wine if I add it....correc?

It will either work or not work. Won't hurt the wine if its not viable and free is the right price for this. At the worst it will set you back a few weeks as it will take that long to figure out if its viable probably. Follow the directions and see how it goes.
