I've been waiting for my paklab peach Chardonnay to clear for the past 6 weeks or so. The top two thirds of the carboy was crystal clear but the bottom wouldn't clear.
I finally said the heck with it and figured I'd bottle it anyway and put the bottom bottles aside for a while.
Well the wine actually did clear perfectly. There was a hazy layer stuck to the inside of the carboy (I'm guessing from the f-pack). To my amazement as I was filling bottles from the bottom of the carboy the wine was coming out clear as can be.
Any idea what may have caused the haziness?
The wine turned out great. I didn't read too many raving reviews of paklab kits, but this one worked just great.
I'm sipping on a bottle as I post lol.

the "haze" that you describe was probably dead yeast stuck to the side of the carboy. It is always good practice to rack your wine into a new carboy before bottling. this insures any sediment is left behind. this insure you will not bottle any of the sediment.
