My son was home for the weekend with a friend, so I had some help in moving things around, cleanup, etc., so took the opportunity to bottle my first batch of wine. It's a CC Old Vine Zin, a 5 week kit that I stretched out to 10 weeks.

Now it's time for more patience, as I let this continue to age in the bottles. So far, it tastes quite nice for a young wine.

- Patience (ok, 10 weeks isn't very long, but better than I would have done)
- Wine isn't as fragile as one might think. I learned not to worry too much about ruining something.
- Allinone wine pump - can't imagine being without it
- Lots of opinions about stirring, airlocks, topping up, etc. helped me form my own opinions
- Bottle cleaning, sanitation advice, etc.
- the importance of avoiding oxidation throughout the process
- Label info (avery 5164)
- How to apply the shrink wraps on the bottles (boiling water)
- Patience
- Patience (had to make sure I listed that 3 times)
