Few questions about overwintering vines

grapes in pots - I'm assuming the recommendation is to set them next to something warm or in an unheated gh to keep the pots from freezing?

When the vines are dormant do they need sunlight at all? Aka can I put them under the house or in an unheated building?

Can you skip dormancy on first year seedlings? I know this can be done with other temperate plants but wasn't sure about grapes.

These are good questions. Does anyone know the answers ? I put my 5 gallon vines in the garage . They do get a little indirect sunlight but the garage is cold enough to mimic a natural winter.
