Which current kit would produce a wine most similar to a dry, Provence-style Rosé? I searched the forums and found that you can skip the back-sweetening (or add it early so it ferments?) to have it finish dry but I'm not sure which currently-available kit would match the flavors best.

Gosh, I hope someone can prove me wrong. I just looked at the websites of WineXpert, Vineco (Cellar Craft, etc.), and RJ Spagnols. There were not many blushes or roses to begin with, but none of them were close to a Provence style. Most were white Zin or white Merlot. None were said to contain Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Mourvedre, etc.

Thank you for the fast and informative replies; I appreciate it. Maybe someone will release a limited edition in the near future.

In the meantime I'll see if my local store has that Glad Hatter line. If the price is right I might just make it to check out this summer.

Thanks again!

WineXpert released a Grenache Rose last year. Really yummy. It came with an f-pac, but like you mentioned, I put most of it in primary. What I have is a nice rose that is just the slightest bit off-dry.

Mosti has a Meglioli blush Merlot that sounds pretty good.

The kit Jim referenced was a limited edition, but it might be available somewhere!:

Also, it is entirely possible that a dry white Merlot or dry white Zin will give you want you want!

There are not many left for sure. This might be the only one that isn't a Zin or Merlot:

Of course you also need to find someone who sells the Glad Hatter line.

Thank you again for the helpful responses. I've been refreshing the Wine Expert and RJS web sites all spring (what my local store, Keystone Homebrew, sells) and I wanted you to know that it looks like they're going to release a real-deal, French-style Rosé: https://www.rjscraftwinemaking.com/cru-international/french-rose-style/ I can't wait to order and make this one.
