I have a grape grusher that has been in a basement for 35 plus years along with a press. The crusher is rusty on the inside. It is in perfect working order. Anyone had any experence with this, or should I just try to rebuild it. I remember seeing it 50 years ago and my Mother-in-law says she remembers it when shs was young, so it is old. I would like to use it for this coming wine making season if possible. Any suggestions ??

Thanks, Dan

I think it would make a better conversation piece (on the patio) than anything but if you insist I would tear it down and sand the rust off and clean it down to bare metal, lube with food grade lube, sanitize it well with Iodophor solution and give it a go.

If it is in good working order, clean er up and use it. Guess I have always been into old tools, most of them work as good or better than the modern ones. Arne.
