Chitosan and Drill powered stirring rods

One of my kits says to stir gently when adding Chitosan and not to use a drill for this step, yet I've never seen this on any other kit. Should i never use a drill here or is it good enough to use a drill but not run it full steam? I understand Chitosan is derived from shell fish; does stirring with too much force break their composition and make them less effective or something?

Whats should I make of this instruction and how should I proceed with this step in general.

I run my drill on "low" and I've never had a problem. It has always cleared nicely. Good Luck!!
