Very interesting. My geography sucks, but I wonder if, like the new wine growing regions in England, if they are able to have these regions due to the changes that are happening worldwide to the climate? They did say the winters are still so cold, the vines must be buried.

Here is a map of where Ningxia is located. Looks like they are located ~ 38.5 degrees N. Napa Valley is also located ~38 degrees N. Walla Walla, WA is located ~46 degrees N. They also have to bury canes in WA State in many areas in the Winter as they can and do get lots of snow and on occasion a hard freeze.
