So I did two kits, WineExpert Cab and Pinot Grigio. Cab is doing great, no issues. I racked the Pinot Grigio today and when I inserted my auto siphon it kicked up a lot of the lees and racked to new carboy very cloudy (was very clear before). Is this normal, or how do u prevent this? I lost my...

Fermenting WE kit, on day 6. SG is at 1.01 which instructions say to rack at that reading or less. I'm just curious,would you wait another day or go ahead and rack? I fermented a WE Cab kit and the SG on day 5 was well below 1.01.

It's my opinion that if you're going to use air airlock on the carboy then you would also need an airlock on the 1/2 gallon or bottles. However, once you have completed fermentation there should be no need for an airlock. I'm no pro, that's just what I've gathered from reading.
