    IMO most anything is step up from this. RJS Cru are nice kits. Heron Bay are good too.

    Number of Yeast Packets in a Kit

    Bought a couple of kits the other day, a chardonnay that has one yeast packet, and a port kit that has two. I was wondering why some kits have more packets than others and is it possible to add too many packets? Thanks Doug.

    Change yeast I had trouble with EC1118 dated 2009, from another kit manufacturer. I bought another packet and pitched it in after 2 days of inactivity. Fermentation started right away and the wine (Bergamais) turned out fine.

    I will be ready to bottle my first batch of red wine in the next 7-10 days. I have made batches of white and blush wines and filtered them before bottling to get the "polished" finish, and was wondering if there would be any noticeable advantage in filtering a red wine? Thanks Doug

    I am ready to bottle a HB Grenache Blush. When tasting, I find it kind of flat and boring, very little body and very dry. I added the sweet reserve as per instruction but I can hardly tell it is there. Any suggestions for improvement? Thanks.
