    I think it's time to bottle :)

Well three years in the carboys is way too long but the wine is outstanding in every way. The two Cabs (B9 & B10) are smooth but strong. The Merlot (B8) on the other hand is nothing short of spectacular. The aroma is great with a solid Merlot smell, the taste is smooth and rich and the “bam” a...

    What's New?

Ok, I'm jumping back into this after a 3 year break. Going to start with an Oaked Chardonnay. I see Meglioli has one this year for Jan. 2015 release. Any recommendations? High end kit, 100% juice, or close to it. Thanks

    Hello

Should I introduce myself as a newbie? :) I renewed my membership today. Sorry about being MIA for a bit but I got the itch again. Just got back from a 5 day trip to Napa and Sonoma. I'm going to lurk for a bit to see who is still here. Hello all ... Rick

    New Videos

Well I took another shot at the wine making videos. This is a lot harder then I thought. I got about 3 days invested on these. I hope it was worth it. I used a "text to speech" program for the voice over. What do you think? -4FxcsjlWvQ -R-ZWOSSkBg 7NKMXjZ8QcA

    brew belt how to's

Hey Ben, I have had mine on glass for about three weeks now with no problem. I have them set up on a temperature controller. A bit expensive but it gives them that required off time. Disclaimer: I am not recommending using them on glass, I think you should always follow the MFG. directions.

Shot a quick clip while I was degassing some wine today. I was adjusting the vacuum from 10" to 15" until I could leave it at 15" for about 5 minutes.16bwKZsEVbQ

    PVC Capsules

How do you shrink them? Heater or Water? Do you add sulfites to your water? Right now I'm using boiling water. I'm thinking of adding sulfites for the water that gets trapped on the cork to keep any potential mold growth at bay.
