    Wine Label Links?

I offered to make wine as favors for the guests at my daughter's wedding next February. I've got some of the wine started and put one caseof the 375's away this weekend. Only 5 more cases to go. Easy. I've always used Word to make a simple label for my wines. Now it's time to kick it up a...

    Wine Kit Prices

A friend of mine and fellow wine maker emailed me today about a web site that had fantastic prices on kits. So I did a little research. For a Winery Series Super Tuscan (18L) @ Finevinewines the price is 132.99 less discount plus shipping is 135.31. Superstore is 103.99 +36.10 = 140.09. So...

    Cheap Wine Bottles???

I always do a lot of looking on eBay for wine bottles and this ad caught my eye. 10 cases of bottles for $1???? Then you look at the astronomical shipping charge and just laugh. Wayne http://cgi.ebay.com/Wine-Bottles-750ml-Antique-Green-10-Cases-/220611651619?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0

    Shelf life of ingredients

Brushwood, Last year I fermented a kit that was 3 1/2 years old. Tasted fine but a little off color. Finished taste is normal. I did buya new yeast since yeast is only good for a little over a year. Wayne

Mosti Mondiale that's a Girlie wine

Good God Waldo. I'm going to have to have another glass of wine to fog my memory of your post. Santa in a tutu? Say it ain't so! Wayne

    F pack

F-packs are made by simmering fruit on your stove, running it through a strainer, then simmering the juices to reduce down to 1/3 the volume. I found this to start. Fruit and some liquid to start? Strain and only use the juice? Wayne

    F pack

I've got my peaches and using Waldo's recipe. How do I go about making an F pack? I'd like to figure it out now while I have the fruit and have it ready if I need it months down the road. Thanks, Wayne

    Do you still buy wine....

I don't buy any commercial wine. I much prefer what I make at home. When I go out to dinner and order a glass of wine most of the time I'm disappointed with the chemically nose and harsh taste of the red wines. Better to order dinner to go and enjoy a meal with a bottle of something...

    Heat Gun and Shrink Caps

I use boiling water also. Use a small sauce pan with just a couple of inches of water. Do the shrink wraps before you put the labels on so none of the steam or water droplets get on the labels. Wayne

Cellar Craft Red Mountain Cabernet -- juice from ???

I just bottled my first red mountain cabernet after 7 months in the carboy and have read several posts about this being a terrific wine. I made this wine becauseit won so many medals at last year's Winemaker Magazine wine competition. I didn't know what the "red mountain" meant till I saw a post...

RJ Spagnols Cru Select -- Argentina Tannat Merlot

Opened a bottle of the Tannat Merlot last night and finishing the last glass as I type. Smooth, velvety, big-mouth feel. Still has a great lingering taste. Quality kit. A little aging and I've got a wine that's good enough I don't want to share. Wayne

    Another hello from Texas!

Welcome. I'm closer to the Alamo and used to do all of my wine kit business in your area. After getting an unnecessary run-around I switched to doing business with George. I've been to the Toy Store several times -- its worth the trip! Wayne

    Tap Water Question

I don't use tap water. Flouride, clorine, minerals, and lots of other stuff. Al is probably right and there probably isn't enough "junk" to worry about. However, we're only using a couple of gallons of water so you might as well use as pure a product as possible. If you're worrying then you...
