Looking at the picture in the first post, the reading looks like about .995 to me. I see the 70, 80, 90, but not the 100 mark, which is still in the wine. Am I looking at it wrong?
I have actually already ordered some of the "shavings" from the link provided, since I could not find powdered. Just surprised the powdered is not available, since the kits from several different producers use the powder, and it seems to work so well.
Thanks,
Hello- I've made a few Amarone kits in the past that came with powdered Hungarian oak. The lower quality kit I recently purchased did not come with any, so I wanted to add some, but I cannot find a source on line.
Anyone have a source to share? I'm currently in Southern CA, but mail order...
The cooling unit in my wine cabinet is not cooling, so I need to find someone in the Seattle area to see if it can be repaired. It is a breezaire 1060 unit. Please PM me with any suggestions. Any help is appreciated.
Like any red, they get better with time. It is very drinkable after 3 months, which is what I plan to do, while my more expensive kits continue to age.
This was my first kit, and everyone liked it. I did add oak cubes during the secondary. I have a second batch sitting in a carboy right now with some oak slats in it, will probably bottle this weekend or next. For the price I think it is a very good wine.
