    Am I reading this hydrometer wrong??

    Looking at the picture in the first post, the reading looks like about .995 to me. I see the 70, 80, 90, but not the 100 mark, which is still in the wine. Am I looking at it wrong?

    Vacuum degassing is the only way to go (I built my own setup). I've done at least ten kits this way. I'll never whip again.

    Need Wine Cabinet Cooler repair near Seattle

    The cooling unit in my wine cabinet is not cooling, so I need to find someone in the Seattle area to see if it can be repaired. It is a breezaire 1060 unit. Please PM me with any suggestions. Any help is appreciated.

    WineXpert Mezza Luna - Red

    Like any red, they get better with time. It is very drinkable after 3 months, which is what I plan to do, while my more expensive kits continue to age.

    This was my first kit, and everyone liked it. I did add oak cubes during the secondary. I have a second batch sitting in a carboy right now with some oak slats in it, will probably bottle this weekend or next. For the price I think it is a very good wine.
