Hi I've started making cider a 40pint fruit cider from wilkinsons. Fermented well it's been about 5 weeks now and bubbling only twice a day should I bottle or just leave it.

I stayed on the 3rd of October chardonnay wine kit from wilkinsons. Taste good and smells goods but the reading is stuck on 1.012. There are no air bubbles so it's definitely finished fermenting.
It's a kit from Wilkinsons so the yeast all comes with it. It is fermenting ok. And it is in doors. Don't really want to stick it near a radiator as the heat will keep changing when the heating goes off in the eve.
My hydrometer stays to the side of the plastic tube when I try a take a reading for my wine. I cleaned and thoroughly dried it but still sticks to the side.
Do I need to buy a new hydrometer.
Bottled my chardonnay wine didn't really do hydrometer readings before as wasn't too sure how to read it. I did a reading when bottling it was 1.002. What would the strength be.
