Wine conditioner (what is it used for)

I read that wine conditioner could be use forSweetening wine. Is this correct? I have never used it or saw it anywhere for that matter, but then again this is all new to me. I would like some comments from any of you who have used it. It never hurts to get advice from some of the Wine making Guru's! I hope that some day I can share some wine making knowledge. It is a corn sugar base with Potassium Sorbate and Potassium Metabisulfite. They add both chemicals as they have found the sorbate works better with the sulfite added at the same time.
