I use city tap water, but here the Memphis Sands aquifer offers some of the best water in the country. It really depends on the quality of your tap water. Low hardness, chlorides, and sulfates here. In fact, Memphis Light, Gas & Water bottles it to give to companies that are thinking of relocating here. Those coming from places like NJ are very impressed.

If you drink your tap water and like it, then it will work for wine making.

If your tap water is drinkable it is OK to make wine.
