Just one comment about freezing before steaming -- I find it helps to let the frozen fruit thaw a bit before steaming, otherwise there's a lot of time spent in the first part of the steaming just thawing the fruit! This might be more applicable to "hard" fruits like, say, chokecherry, more than blueberries.
 
along the lines of pelican's post, pouring the hot juice from the steam juicer back over the fruit seems to get things going a bit faster also.
