Stainless Steel Tanks

Is it possible for stainless steel to corrode? I have a 500l tank and it looks like there is a patch on the inside wall that is corroding.

Yes. Depends on the amount of nickel in the alloy. Cheaper grades will rust, just more slowly than high grades.

If corrosion is found, would you recomend the purchase of a new tank, or should I explore getting the corroded area cut out and a new patch welded in?
