I have a couple silly questions I hope you all can help me with:

1. Can you reuse oak cubes and if so, how do you clean them for the next use?
2. Can you reuse grape skin straining bags that come with kits and if so, how do you clean them?
3. Has anyone made the M&M Sangiovese must pails and if so, what did you think?
Okay, that's three. Sorry.

1. You can, but the vast majority of the oak flavor is already used up by the first use.
2. Sure, just clean like anything else, with wine-safe detergent and k-meta for sanitizing.
3. I haven't, so I can't comment.

1. Yes. I rinse with filtered water and freeze mine, then sanitize prior to their next use. They will soak up some of the first wine, so be mindful of the second, because the flavor will transfer. This is one of the reasons that some people say not to reuse them since it is possible to transfer microbes from one batch to another.
2. Yes, same as Doctor CAD replied. More then likely it is a muslin-type bag and probably won't hold up to more than a few uses, so check it for wear each time.
3. Sorry, no experience with that kit.
