Scuppernog Wine anygood?

I was given two bottles of duplin scuppernog wine, green bottles. Seemed to be 4 or 5 yars old. It had a brown foil over the cork and the wine was a darker color( brownish) I have bought some of the same from my local stores and it is clear and sweeter tasting. It has an oak taste to it.Is this wine any good? I know fruit wines have a limited shelf life.

Its not available here but I have had it twice and it wasnt brown and was very good!
