Here is the southwest we drink sangria year around. I usually buy cheap red wine and add, oranges, Mexican limes and lemons to the wine after pouring into a glass container and smash the fruit into the wine.

My question; what would you suggest fora good red wine as a kit? I'm thinking of adding orange, lime and lemon jest in the secondary or us fruit liquor ( there are some great fruit liquor available now).

Personally I figure that the type of red wine isn't that important because the fruitiness overpowers much of the taste anyway. Our normal house wine is Ken Ridge Classic Merlot, so that is what we mostly use. I have thought of turning a gallon into Sangria before bottling, but haven't done it.

That's what I wanted to do, is bottle it up with the fruit and just chill pop a bottle add some garnish and consume...
