I picked up 3 cases of empties from my high end Italian restaurant source this week end. Many bottles had Polyester labels. Soaking does not do any good, scraping off the labels is not that hard but it leaves a hard glue residue to soak and scrape off.
Tonight I tried heating the labels with a hair dryer to soften the glue. That worked real well, labels peeled off easily with very little glue residue.
I will also mention for those of you that go for the high end. They must have had a big spender on Saturday night; there were 5 Amarone bottles in the batch. Since the restaurant is known for being expensive, I would have hated to see that bar bill.

Maybe I should pick up a heat gun. Some of that glue is very stubborn. Just cleaned 26 bottles last night to bottle a batch.

True true. Could be motivation to actually use shrink wraps.
