CAN YOU USE A PLASTIC MILK JUG THAT CONTAINED WATER FOR FERMENTING OR IS GLASS BETTER THE NUMBER 6 STOPPER WILL FIT RIGHT IN THE MILK JUG ANYBODY KNOW?THE DRAW BACKS IF ANY THEY ARE ALOT CHEAPER THAN CARBOY'S
THANKS IN ADVANCE

The plastic milk jugs are so thin and flexible that when you move them, pick them up or whatever, they will flex and change volume. This means that you will probably pull air in through the airlock one moment and push it back out the next, thus letting in a lot of unnecessary oxygen. Find some of the one gallon or 4 liter juice jugs - the #6 bung fits those too.

Juice will work, buta jug of Carlo Rossi might be more FUN however -- you could call it "research...."
