paper chromatography for malic acid testing

any harm in cutting the paper in half length wise and using half the paper. I test 3 wines and I can't see a use for using the lactic and malic samples because I know from previous tests where each sample should end up. I should be able to use only half the amount of chemical this way. Any comments

I've never done that, but can't really see the harm in trying. It'll be pretty hard to roll into a tube and staple I'd imagine.
