makeing use of carboy boxes

I have kept all the boxes that my carboys have come in and this how I put them to use keeping my wine in the dark. I just use a box knife and cut a hole in the top just big enough for the top of the carboy so that it does not touch the bung.

Have you oranyone used the carboy shield? is it worth the $ or should i go with a home made or a box?

What you have there will work just fine. I wouldnt spend the extra money.
