Is there any reason the LaBodega Port should not be filtered before bottling? I have never filtered but I have wanted to start for some time. The MM Amarone kit directions recommend it (filtering)but it is not mentioned in the LaBodega directions. I didn't know if the addition of the F pack had anything to do with it.

Also, the LaBodega directions do not mention the addition of sulfites if you plan to age past 6 months. Does the higher alcohol content do the same job as the added sulfites would do?

Filtering is controvercial, especially with big reds. Some say that the filtering removes some of the flavor from the wine. I don't think the standard particle filters we use would cause this.

The higher alcohol content in the port will help to inhibit bacterial growth, but it will not protect against oxidation. If it were me, I would add the extra 1/4 tsp of K-meta prior to bottling.
