Ok, I started making a 1 gallon batch of strawberry-kiwi and a 1 gallon
batch of blueberry mead today. Both of them are around 1 3/4 gallons
without the fruit in them because when I made my pear wine I ran a
little short when racking into carboy. Now, when I transfer these into
carboys I should have extra for topping off later. When I put these
into a seperate bottle for future use do I cork them or buy a small
bung and airlock as these will noy be done fermenting?

You can put a cork in them and then see how high it gets when it flys out from the CO2!

Sorry bout that but yes you need to add a bung and airlock in the small bottle. A #2 drilled stopper will fit a wine bottle just fine.

Thanks Masta and I always love to get busted on. Humor is what helps me get through life smiling.

Hey Wade,

You could cork the extra and we could all put bets on how long it would be before the cork blew and the winner could get a free bottle of your wine!

Just a thought!

I've got $20 on five days with a shrinkable capsule on it. I usually
only make 6 gallon batches but funds are low due to property and
vehicle taxes, but I just couldnt stand seeing those primaries empty!
Uh Oh, My names Wade and I think I'm addicted. Is there a ten day coin
or something!
