I am going to make a merlot/blackberry Jam blend soon. I plan on using either Alexanders or homebrew merlot concentrate with blackberry jam.

I know you don't mlf kits but what about juice concentrates such as these.

also, I have some mlf bacteria that has been in the refridgerator for a over a year, is it still ok?

Sure--no problem with an MLF on Alexander's. Just be careful of yeast choice when doing MLF's because a culture that creates higher levels of SO2 is not a good fit, such as EC-1118.
