Alabama residents hoping to brew their own beer will have to wait at least another year.
A proposal to allow residents to brew up to 60 gallons of beer each year died on Wednesday when the Legislature failed to bring it up for a vote on the final day of its regular session.
The bill wouldn't have allowed home brewers to sell their products, but they would have been allowed to take up to 10 gallons to festivals or competitions.
The measure eked out of the House on a 44-33 vote in April, but failed to come up on the Senate floor.
