It is a Chardonnay style Scuppernong. Probably the first of it's kind. I had a glass of the 'bottom of the barrel' after I turned the filter pump off. I just turned the carboy up and poured the last bit of kinda cloudy wine in it into a wineglass. It was very good, so I can only imagine how good the clear wine is.A little vanilla-ish with nice smoky undertone. A tad light body, but very close to what I wanted. Just right tartness, off-dry, slightly sweeter than a California chardonnay.
