well never got around to replying to this, still got this batch in my carboy been crystal clear for a long time im on third or 4th racking at this point
nah all the nasty will settle out or be caught when you filter it, only thing that would worry me if you plan to keep it for extended periods of time it may have something still there to get funky on ya. other than that filter away and enjoy or at least i would :h
i checked this one out the other night 1.010 is where it was sitting gonna bring that up a bit, gave it a taste the alcohol is still pretty strong/forward but the flavor is good overall
i will give the water wine a try just to see what can be done with it, and i will end up doing the mulberry by itself, i just hate making a small batch liking it and having to wait months before they are ready again to get more hahah i will post up my findings!

that very well could be actually i may be not getting the flavor im looking for because i dont use enough fruit and or juice as well i dont boil much i normally drop in fruit and press. i reclaim a lot of the flavor im looking for in F-Pak's and such or it could just be my redneck taste buds...
yup your right and i see that side of it as well, but i look at the process and say your basic fruit juice wine, you add x amount of juice in primary and you ferment to dry, most flavor and some color is stripped away at this point, we then take more of the same juice to back sweeten and regain...

good question ive been slacking on these last 2 batches as far as keeping up with the final adjustments and notes for that matter. i will give it a check tonight while im racking my other batch.
What if I were to ferment water and sugar to get the desired ABV then after stabilization and such added the juice in for back sweetening. Reason I ask is this I am going to make a mulberry wine but the problem is i only have 1.5ish gallons of juice and i would like to make a batch larger than...
no i have not tried this ima have to look into it this is my second mead, its nice and clear now im about ready to rack again and give it a taste to see where im at.
well crap im just now getting back to this things have been crazy so im gonna just say since im so late im out.
although i did crack open a 1.5L of this last night, not to bad acid is a lil high but not a deal breaker, the bottle went down nice and smooth haha
