    Did I ruin my wine?

    Went in to check on my wine today and realized that one of the airlocks on a carboy had fallen out. Not sure how long it was like that, might have been weeks. Is it ruined? It was topped up to the neck like it should be. Thanks.

    Juice Question

    I am about to start a couple batches from juice but have done only kits for the last few years. I did a couple buckets when I first started but really didn't know what I was doing at the time! Will I need to balance the juice with additives when I recieve the buckets?

    WineXpert World Vineyard Chilean Merlot Problem

    Welch's Concord Grape Pics!

    Started a Welch's concord grape about a week and a half ago and it's going wonderfully! My biggest suprise was it dropping from 1.085 to .992 in 7 days! Racked to the carboy and it looks great!

    WineXpert Green Apple Riesling

    i started a Green Apple Riesling last night and UP'd the SG to about 1.80. My question is this I'm going to wait about 2 days to put the yeast in so the temp is correct. Before doing the yeast should I re stir the mix to get the bentonite back into suspension? Or can I just sprinkle? Thanks.

    WineXpert Just Bought a New Kit!

    Just bought a Winexpert's Selection Cabernet Franc to start! Anybody have any experience with this kit? I also bought a Island Mist Green Apple Reisling as a quick drinker. This will be in addition to the Welchs White grape currently brewing! Should keep me busy for the Spring and early summer!

    Honey Mead Question

    What would I need to make a 5 gallon batch of Honey Mead? It would be my first attempt. I have made several wine kits and one batch from all juice, so I'm familiar with the process....just don't know what a mead involves. From what I've read it seems quite simple. Anyone?

    I just did a White Merlot Kit and am at the bottling stage. I know at this point I could bottle but I also could bulk age it, so my question is.....should I? What are the benefits? Should I Rack it again and add the kmeta for aging or should I just add the kmeta in the current carboy and stir it...

    Mold in my carboy!!!!

    So 2 nights ago I went to get ready to rack my White Merlot into a second carboy when I saw some mold spots in the bottom! This made me quite nervous. I cleaned it out with soap and water with the bottle brush, then put about 3 inches of sanitizer in it sealed it and left it for about 3 hours...

    I was wondering if anyone hear has done the Island Mist Blackberry Merlot kit? If so what did you think of it?     Just finished our second batch and it came out great! We did the first from juice (A Cab Franc) and the second from a kit (A Blush). Here's a few pics of the bottles and of course our cleaver label. lol.

    Kit Wine Question

    I'm just about to the bottle stage on a blush kit and am wondering something....They don't call to rack it or anything, it just says to bottle from the carboy (which has like an inch on sediment on the bottom). Will this work ok? Or should I rack it and let it sit for another week before...
