This proves my theory. I was thinking about this and now I see how it can be done. I get used bottles from wineries and they never rinse them after use in the tasting room. I like it!

I purchased the Merlot and Carmenere last year. They are still in carboys. I hope to bottle soon. I have not tasted them yet.

I racked to a carboy on Sunday. I ended up with a full 5 gallon carboy and a 375ml bottle.

Still in a carboy. Not bottled yet.

I'm not trying to stir the lees too much but more of an observation. Thank you for spending your extra time on this site. I have no data but I would say 99.9% of all Internet forum moderators are not paid. That is the beauty of the Internet. People just help out one another.

I picked up fresh grapes on Sunday too. I believe I was there when you were there Bart. My grapes were right in front of yours. Barbera will be good. Merlot was not much liquid. We'll see how they come out.

I poured mine in to larger buckets. Not enough room for fermentation. I still got a little bit of foam in one airlock. Smells great!

I picked up my two buckets on Tuesday. They are bubbling away now.
