    Thanks to all members

I haven't been around all that long but I'm amazed how great folks have been in tackling questions that come pouring in here. It's obvious we all started out as rookies and asked many a question as our winemaking experiences have moved us along. It's nice to see folks share their knowledge in...

    Here we go!

My son's a beer freak. Been making it for a year now. He usually has 3-4 batches going at once. It's fun to see what he makes. He spends tons of time looking at his beer-making magazines for recipe ideas.

    New Wine glass

That's right nice. I suggest you leave that one for decorations and use Dixie Cups when you're sippin'. :)

To Drink or not to Drink?

Sounds like he didn't do a good job of filtering his wine before bottling it. He might have used the wrong size cork and some broke off when he bottled it. I'd open it and filter it to get the gunk out of it. Then I'd taste-test it and go from there. If it tastes ok, you could go ahead and...

    Any 2011 wine making resolutions?

Now that I'm a dialysis patient, I can't drink as much as I did before. Don't mean I plan to make less wine but I hate having wine just sitting around. So, I plan to buy a corker and bottles so I can give bunches of my wines to friends for them to drink and enjoy.:p

What equipment would you buy just starting out.

I'd buy a starter kit; it will include all the basic equipment you need to get started in this great hobby. As your knowledge grows, you'll have a better idea of what kinds of wine you want to make and how much which will drive what you need to have on-hand to make it happen. Some wine supply...

    Wish me luck

Here ya go. Hope you enjoy it if you make it. I've started another batch, 5 gallons this time. This recipe is for a 1 gallon batch. I do all my wines in 1 gallon test batches and then move to 5 gallons if I like what I made. 3 cans welch's 100% frozen white grape concentrate sugar to...

Wine started to clear then became cloudy again??

I've broken 2 now. Yeah I know; some folks just learn slowly. I keep a washcloth on the counter when I'm working on my wines to lay my hydrometer on so it don't roll off like the first one and hit the floor. :D

What are you making and what have you made ???

I like Mason jars; just pour from the gallon jug into the jars and stick em in the fridge to chill. And, I drink my wines using Dixie Cups; no broken glass on my floor when I drop a cup. I must be a hick. :fsh

For those who have it all...

Thank goodness glass gallon jugs only need you to give the cap a good twist to open. Money savers they be. :h
