After reading through this:
https://winemakermag.com/yeast-strains-chart
I'm intrigued by some of the White Labs and Wyeast strains. I have just written them off as beer experts.
I've read here that some believe there is very little difference in yeast on kits (Bzac kit tweeks), at the end of the day.
Most of us discuss which yeast we used in the posts. My kits are all just under 17 months and younger so I haven't done the same kit with different yeasts yet. I'm also waiting for the kit taste to go away on my oldest kits. My Eclipse Nebbiolo and Limited Barbera do have some Early varietal characteristics (rose-floral). But blind I dont know if I will be able to say THIS is Zin! THIS is Syrah, etc.
So.... Anyone use White Labs or Wyeast on a kit?
The Assmanshausen sounds great for Zin, the 4244 or 4946 for the Forza or Nebbiolo.
Appreciate any opinions - Thanks!
