"Hello everyone. Attached is an announcement about the upcoming West Georgia Winegrape Symposium on July 30th, 2011 in Carrollton. This should be a milestone viticulture event for Georgia and surrounding states. The planting of the varieties featured in the symposium opens up the whole South to quality wine grapes that can stand the heat, humidity and disease pressures of our area. These grapes, which our members are already planting here, can also thrive in Albany, Macon, Athens, Savannah – everywhere previously left out of the wine bunch grape discussion in Georgia.
This initiative greatly expands the winegrape industry in the state, from just being in a few counties in the mountains, to putting all 159 counties in play as possible producers of this growing agriculture commodity.
Please register as soon as possible to reserve a space at this educational event. Even before this announcement release we have early indications of interest in attending from across Georgia and several other states.
If there are any questions please send all emails to: [email protected] (new Association email address)."
