I know White Zinfandel comes from a red grape but not fermented on the skins. What is a normal color for this juice. I've never made one before but the one I have going now is pretty dark compared to what you purchase commercially. I was just curious if this is normal.

I believe it has a slight red (almost pink) color to it. Not white but enough to add a little color to it.

I figured it would change as must goes through various stages during ferment. I'm looking forward to watching this one. We have never done a blush before and decided to try one. We considered the White Merlot as well, maybe next year.

Doug, my "Zinfandel" which I believe was in reality a "White Zinfandel" is a little deeper shade of purple than the "Hid in Pines Vineyard" logo at the top of his page. I am thinking about trying to deepen the color somehow. Any Suggestions?

Doug...blushes usually look darker in the carboy/primary than when bottled.
