HI, I planted some grapevines 2 years ago. But everytime Im getting that weird looking leaves and stems, and growth is weak. Please help me? Any clue what is happening? I've tried something for fungal diseases.

Hey Kaamiru, I live down in the sunny south - central Alabama. I've successfully grown a lot of scuppernongs and we have a big garden each year. Each plant has specific needs and some general principals applies to all plants. Around here with grapes we have to look for the ones who are resistant to Pierce's disease. The biggest thing with my scuppernongs is early infestation of Japanese beetles. They seem to love the early fruit that's about the size of a very small pebble.

Just looking at your picture I notice cobwebs and maybe a mildew look. The black spots on the plant may be from the mildew. Pests have to be considered as well (maybe something like an aphid) Do these plants get a lot of sunlight and free flowing air? Maybe talk to your county agent, a local nursery, or the place where you bought them from. I know this isn't much but I hope it helps.

The yellow spots and brown dead areas look like downy mildew. If there are grey areas under the leaf opposite to the yellow spots, then that is definitely what it is. To treat downy mildew you can apply captan now. Earlier in the season you can apply mancozeb which also handles black rot, but has. 66 day PHI.
