Using Mulch for Grapes

Hello,
I wanted to get some feedback if possible on mulch. This Sunday I planted some vines I received from a friend on here. I think I might of screwed up big time

... I dug the holes out and rather then using the same dirt I filled the whole with mulch.


Did I just screw myself and hurt the vines? If someone could let me know if it's to late to replant them with soil. I might have to go to home depot to buy a couple soil bags or something.

What you have done is plant them in a flower pot outside- not the best plan. It is best to mix soil preplant or fill with the soil dug out of the hole. I would pull them up gently and replant in soil.
