So, I was gifted a very nice bottle of Belle Glos Pinot Noir (2012) so I figured the least I could do was give a review of my thoughts on it.

Visual

Nice inky dark red

Aroma
Oak and spice
Dark Berry/Jammy
Swirl it for fresher fruit
Perhaps a little unsweet chocolate

Taste

A nice balance between dark berry/jammy traits and a very intersting and equally important oak game which brings light spice, some woody flavour along with a hint of vanilla.

Overall

It feels like this wine uses the oak as an interesting way to deliver and structure what would be a relatively fruit forward pinot noir. Over all, I like it a lot. It is a little bit atypical since the oak plays such a large role in the over all flavour profile. However, it is well in place and not over powering.

If you see it for the right price or if you want something a little bit different I would call this a really good buy.

Thanks for the sharing!
Was that the Meiomi or one of their other Pinots?

NP! It was from the Las Alturas vinyard, from the Santa Lucia Highlands in Monterey County. All in all pretty good.
