Well I made a dumb mistake :slp. I have 2 carboys - one filled with Red grape must and the other filled with white grape must.

I had a yeast packet of Montrachet for the red and a packet of Cote des Blancs for the white. The mistake is that I poured both into the carboy with the white grape must.....

Not sure what to do. Will having the two different yeasts in the white cause an issue or let it ride? Appreciate any help!

Let it be.

Many winemakers blend different strains of yeast to optimize each ones characteristics.

You didn't tell us what grape varieties
you are working with.

You'll be fine, may the best yeast win, sometimes Montrachet can be nutrient needy.

Do you have more packets of yeast for the red?

Thank you for the replies. Thankfully I had another packet for the red. The white grape is Niagara and the red grape is Fredonia. Both from Western New York.

I've decided to let it go...we'll see how it turns out!

Best part - You know you have yeast in the wine (Would be interesting to be able to know which prevails but that's one of the mysteries of wine making.

Not a horrible mistake - just a case of Whoooops!
