Stealing Grapes from 90 year old vines

The reporter makes it sound like the police don't believe him.
 
Two weeks from harvest, I doubt those grapes are worth much. A stolen SUV left behind that police say isn't connected to the grape heist? Something ain't right here..
 
Last year there was a one-of-a-kind crop (for the US, vines were specially imported to just that 1 vineyard - cant remember where from but it was a grape vine that grew more like a bush or something) stolen out of WA and numerous crops were stolen in France...

I doubt it was anyone who wanted the grapes themselves - probably more along the lines of just not wanting him to have them.. But then why haul them away?

I dunno... Couple nightwatch dogs, and a good rifle - it'd only happen once :ts
