Pruning question...

Right now I have about 1/2 my first year vines coming out of the Blue-X shelters. Some of them have 2, maybe even 3 shoots coming out. Should I prune off to just one shoot now or wait till fall to do the pruning? These things are growing about 2" a day, like weeds !

I'm in the same boat. I have cuttings from last fall that I planted and its time to put in posts and wire. I know it's simple but somehow it seems difficult to me.

Let them grow. No pruning required yet.

Let them grow for now. It will add to the root mass and a stronger vine in the future.

I would not do any pruning until spring. Then choose one or two canes to develop into a trunk. From what I understand you may not want the thickest one ( the bull cane) but choose ones that are at least pencil thick. Perhaps those with more experience can correct me if I'm wrong.
