Yes and it works great as the lees usually sit right below the spigot. A lot of kits will have you stir up all lees and transfer them as the clarifier will need these to work properly.

Question about bottling.

Does this process refer to all wines or just some.


What if I think I will let it age for more then 6 months so I add the solution but at 4 months I decide I want to open a bottle, am I able to do that or do I need to wait at least that 6 months?

It will be fine. Commercial wine is much higher in sulfite then ours.
