Mike (ibglowin),

You familiar with this one? Sounds like it'd be up your alley. Too bad the dinner is here in N. VA.

Bazin's on Church

This Monday, April 13 at 6:30 we are hosting a wine dinner with Antinori & Chateau Ste Michelle

The Antinori Family was featured on the current cover of Wine Spectator. Their Winemaker who produces the famous Col Solare will be here presenting the wine.
Col Solare is a world class Cabernet based blend. Some say it's the "Opus One of Washington State"
$85 per person not including tax and gratuity. Please call 703.255.7212 for a reservation.

First
Pesto Rubbed Halibut
marinated cherry tomato salad, sorrento oil emulsion
2012 Chardonnay, Antica, Napa Valley

Second
Semolina Gnocchi
parmesan, rosemary, pork ragout
2008 Shining Hill, Columbia Valley

Third
Creekstone Farms Hanger Steak
garlicky broccolini, “Baker’s Wife” potaotes, red wine-mustard sauce
2010 Col Solare, Columbia Valley

Dessert
Italian Apple Crumb Tart
vanilla bean ice cream

That sounds like a wonderful dinner and a great price for the meal and wine being poured. I have about 6 bottles of Col Solare in the Cellar, all the way back to a 2005 that got 93pts WS. Great wine for sure. MSRP is $75 but I have been lucky to find it at Cotsco (if I am patient) for around $38 or so. The fruit is all Red Mountain!

I am becoming a big fan of Washington State wines. So far, one of my go-to wines (factoring in quality VS price point) is the Chateau Ste Michelle Indian Wells cab. For a wine under $20, it rocks!!!

BB, What a meal you have in store for you. If you were only a little closer, I would be all over that sucka!

Let us know how the event unfolds. If at all possible, could you take a lot of pictures? That way we can all feel (in some small way) that we also attended!

Sadly, I'm not going. Just drooling over the email announcement.

I agree with you on the Indian Wells Cab.

View down Red Mountain from Col Solare…….. :hug

Damn.....

I was asked once.. "what would you like to be the last thing you see before you die".

Glowin, that one is definitely in the running!!!!

This one is not bad either. This vineyard is called "The Benches" Columbia river in the background. Grape Porn :)
