Has anyone tried mixing black and red currants in a recipe? I have 1 3/4 lb of black and 2 1/2 lb of red currants in the freezer. I've mixed blackberries and raspberries before which makes a really nice wine, but not sure if I should try to mix the currants.
 
The black currants are much more strongly flavored than the reds, if you mix them then it will mostly taste like black currants. You could add the red currants to some Niagra concentrate by itself and make a nice wine, and add the currants to a concord concentrate for another good wine, they are strong enough that you will taste them over the concords.
