I have done the Amerone, Old vine Zinfandel, Carmenere, and now the Rosso Fortissimo Kits all with the Grape Packs. The question I have is how do you calculate Alchohol Content?
I start out with Juice that measures SG 1.084 +/- then after massaging that Grape pack, It climbs to any where from 1.092 in the Ameroneto 1.106 as in the Rosso Fortissimo. There still is a lot of sugar in that pack though that the Hydrometer is not seeing. I know from experience that the pack will give all its sugars up after Primary fermentationis over.
Do you use the Vinometer for final ABVmeasurement or does someone have a magic formula someplace that they use to figure out how much more sugar comes out of that Packto get the final ABV.
